Selecting the plane of the US president as your canvas is easy, but actually starting painting on your fresh canvas is not. Not even if your faking it, but a lot of money will for sure make it much easier. Marc Ecko have pulled it of. Of course they rented a plane to make the video otherwise they would soon have been in jail, but it looks like they doing it on the real thing.

So it was a hoax, but a good one. The video looks authentic and probably fooled many people included the US government. They needed to check if the real plane had been sprayed before they could confirm that no one had slipped by security.
